This September, rising star actress Thuso Mbedu will be seen as the lead of Sony's The Woman King opposite Viola Davis. In the historical epic feature directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, Mbedu plays Nawi, an ambitious recruit who fights within the all-female military unit lead by Nanisca (Davis). The film was shot in Mbedu's home country of South Africa and also stars John Boyega and Lashana Lynch.
Mbedu recently won an Independent Spirit Award, Gotham Award, and Hollywood Critics Association Award, and was nominated for a Critics Choice Award, for her starring role as "Cora" in Barry Jenkins' The Underground Railroad, making her the first South African leading woman of a US television series. The limited series is based on Colson Whitehead's bestselling Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, which the Oscar winner Jenkins adapted and directed. For her performance, USA Today called Mbedu the "series' stunning standout, imbuing Cora with a deep humanity and empathy in her every scene, even when she has no dialogue."
An established actress in South Africa, Mbedu was nominated for her second International Emmy Award for Best Performance by an Actress in 2018 for her breakout performance on the series Is'Thunzi. She won a SAFTA (South African Film & TV Awards) for Best Actress - TV Drama for her work on the series. That year, she was also featured on the cover of the Forbes Africa "Under 30" issue highlighting African leaders.

- Bob Holness was the second actor to portray James Bond, starring in a 1957 South African radio dramatization of 'Moonraker'. Born in South Africa in 1928 he moved to Kent, England at a young age and grew up during the Second World War. A career as an actor followed which took him back to the land of his birth where he met Mary Rose whom he soon married. Josephine is an actor, a voice over artist and a producer. Although born in Durban, South Africa she has lived most of her life in Australia. Her first role, as an angst ridden teenager, at the age of fifteen cemented her pursuit of acting, and since then she has appeared in many Australian film and TV shows. - Drikus Volschenk is one of South Africa's top actors who has worked on over 70 film, television and theatre productions, both locally and internationally. Drikus has starred in multiple award winning productions, alongside world class talent, including Idris Alba and Naomi Harris in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (20th Century Fox: 2013); Beauty (2011), the Queer Palm Award Winner at Cannes Film Festival, which was also the South African entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards; Durban Poison (2013), which won the Best South African Feature Film at the Durban International Film Festival (DIFF).
He also starred in Dis ek, Anna (2015), which won six South African Film & Television Awards (SAFTAs), and was cast alongside Laurence Fishburne and Michael Nyqvist in the international series, Madiba (2017) distributed by Black Entertainment Television (BET), USA. In 2018, Drikus starred in the critically acclaimed dystopian science fiction series alongside Dylan O Brien and Rosa Salazar in the American Blockbuster, Maze Runner: Death Cure (20th Century Fox: 2018). The series is nominated for several awards including BreakTudo Awards (BTDAs) and Teen Choice Awards.

Shahir Chundra is an Actor, Director, Writer and Producer based in South Africa. He was also the lead singer of the rock band, MadLove. He started acting at the age of 5 after falling in love with the arts through movies television and plays.
By the age 17 his love for the film led him to begin a filmmaking degree at AFDA in Johannesburg. After qualifying as a Director Of Photography, it took him a few years to make his inevitable step toward Directing. Mac was born in beautiful Natal, Brazil, and made the move to the US with her mother, and brother in 2003. She has been a performer, and an artist ever since she was 3 years old when she had dreams of being a ballerina, and started painting as a hobby. When she was 14 she got her first lead role in an original play; this was when she fell in love with acting. Years down the line she decided to officially enter the industry at 17 years old auditioning, and filming in order to build a solid resume.
